NHBPM Day 22 ~ Spookaloo
This link is a rerun, but appropriate since I'm on my way to Spokane (aka "the can", "spo-compton", and, per Utah Phillips (and me in my head when I was younger, driving and walking some of the streets in this song, "spookaloo").

NHBPM Day 21 ~ POSITIVITY
After spending waaayyyy to much of my morning enjoying the ekphrasis prompt in my Turtle Medicine blog, I need to finish editing my affadavit so I can send it to my lawyer. But I don't want to write about it (unless I need to vent when I finish). @lobsterquotes is really on a roll this morning, so in this post I'll try to capture as many of my favorites throughout the afternoon as I work, or a bunch that he's done this morning to keep me positive as I work. Even if I only accomplish a few.
Imagine yourself where you want to be.
Although the world is full of suffering, it is full also of the overcoming of it~Helen Keller
Dont quit
Enjoy the entire experience
Every knock is a boost~Elbert Hubbard
We tend to get what we expect~Norman Vincent Peale
Let the heart sing, let the eyes flash, let the mind be lifted up, look upward and say to yourself ... nothing is impossible! ~Peale
Thousands of geniuses live and die undiscovered - either by themselves or by others~Mark Twain
The person desirous of success and strength should perform good karma continuously~Rig Veda
Courage is the best slayer-courage which attacketh, for in every attack there is the sound of triumph~Friedrich Nietzsche
All intellectual improvement arises from leisure~Samuel Johnson
There is no success without hardship-Sophocles#quote
The higher we soar, the smaller we appear to those who cannot fly~ Nietzsche
We shall neither fail nor falter; we shall not weaken or tire...Give us the tools and we will finish the job~Winston Churchill
Make yourself necessary to somebody. Do not make life hard to any~ Emerson
To build a better world, start in your community~Fortune cookie
There are many ways of going forward, but only one way of standing still~Franklin D. Roosevelt
(And since procrastination is one of them and I've got a great list here, I'm off to eat and finish the affadavit)

NHBPM Day 20 ~ Don't want to think about it
I'm still working on proving I am well enough to work, and working through the legal obstacles to working...but to think this could all be DONE is too much to set any hopes on.
So, in the mean time, I need every little diversion I can get and I need to appreciate every little small pleasure I can find. It's odd what can be diverting during times of stress. I watched three episodes of say yes to the dress this morning and i don't even like that show.
A couple of quotes from Lobsterquotes on twitter:
Cast your cares on God; that anchor holds~ Lord Alfred Tennyson
Small pleasures of late also include additional frivolous small pleasures such as fitting into this dress in Vegas (on our way to a wedding) and Greg taking a picture from just the right angle. Not sure why I thought of it while typing this, but I shopped in Minneapolis (which was also fun and also someplace we ended up on our way to somewhere else while flying for free) and I'm beginning to find shopping a small pleasure (except for the no paycheck part). I'd rather be heatlhy than thin, but it is kind of fun.

Utah Phillips and folk-musical hope
Bread and Roses with Ani Defranco
.....bread, yes, but roses too....
"I will not obey"
....the essence of contract is agreement
"Hallelujah I'm a bum"
....Spookaloo, city of light....
....oh I like my boss, he's a good friend of mine, that's why I'm starving out on the bread line....
Dump the Bosses Off yer back
....all of us assign blame in our own best interest
well, if we assign blame in our own best interest, that means blame becomes relative
and if blame becomes relative, then one of the important functions
in a society becomes, 'who controls the blame pattern'
....the blame pattern is manipulated...
